This is greenwash. The only green car is no car at all. I am a bullfrog user and I think this kind of cosying up to the auto industry is despicable. GM spent decades defending their turf, crushing electric vehicle development but now they see the writing on the wall. Scramble, Scramble! GM will do anything to keep people buying their junk. I have a good mind to dump bullfrog.
I got a phone call from them this week and sure enough there was some serious soul-searching going on at bullfrog which is exactly what should be happening. Josephine Coombs was the person on the phone and she and I had a good conversation. I hope I played a small part in any soul-seaching going on down on Adelaide bullfrog headquarters, because GM is a huge part of our problem on this planet. This is like a tobacco company of old, advertising menthol being added to its cigarettes and claiming it does less harm to our health ... utter bullshit, never mind bullfrog. I must admit I'm becoming an extremist about cars but I see no option given our situation. I am still going to have to drive places in this bloated, car-culture city and maybe one day I will have an electric car but advertising cars should become a thing of the past, like advertising tobacco and my chosen green energy company should not be involved in any way in it. My only regret about my note to them was the fact that I missed a pun. Instead of "despicable" I should have used the word "revolting"! Oh well, another bon mot missed. Good at that.
