Listen to his mea-culpas here ...

What is fascinating about this is that his blubbing was prompted by the Barclay's Bob Diamond scandal, the same Barclays whose name headlines the Premier League of football in England, a now equally greed-ridden entity that is ruining soccer and turning a game into a money racket for narcissistic Russian mafia owners and their overpaid, petulant, prima donna players.
That said, Man City's prima donna Ballotelli's two goals for Italy in the Euro championship match yesterday against Germany were brilliant as was the whole Italian team especially (as someone called him) the "imperious" Pirlo and the unflappable Buffon whose handing a water bottle to an Irish player in last week's match against a feeble Ireland team struck me as a decent sporting gesture.
I have a new-found, if grudging, respect for Italian football. They played with verve and passion and no histrionics and I hope they beat Spain in the final.
